About this event
A volunteer-run, three-day garlic festival in Gilroy that has run since 1979, with garlic-themed food, chef demonstrations, live music and an arts and crafts area of unique, hand-crafted items alongside toys and gifts. It is held in the gated Hecker Pass Outdoor Events Center next to Gilroy Gardens, and the proceeds go to local schools and nonprofits. Arts and crafts vendors apply to a vendor committee that picks a limited number of booths for quality and variety; food vendors, performers and sponsors are recruited separately.

- From the organizer
- The organizer says to check back in Spring 2027 for applications; no opening date or deadline is posted yet. For reference, the 2026 arts and crafts round took about 40 vendors (hand-crafted items preferred), charged a $20 non-refundable application fee due April 30, 2026, and priced booths at $350 (10x10), $525 (10x15) and $700 (10x20). A vendor committee screened applicants by item description, color product photos, a booth display photo and the overall mix of vendors. Accepted 2026 vendors supplied a California sales permit and a certificate of insurance. Questions: vendors@gilroygarlicfestival.com.
